Do you like the eel? 噂のうなぎ

We have the day that has the custom of eating eel in every summer season in Japan.
I ate it the next day of that.
That reminds me this pictures that has the eel and rice in the rice bowl.
This is famous food in Nagoya at middle Japan, it is called Hitsumabushi.
I don't know the meaning of the name.
The first impression that I had it was excellent.

As you know, it was decided that they added the European eel into the list that made the quantity of exporting limited on Washington Convention.
It was unexpected for me, because the eel is familiar for traditional Japanese food.

7月30日は土用の丑の日でしたが、私は31日に食べました。
というわけで、いつぞやの名古屋のひつまぶし写真。
まだ一回しか食べたことはございませんが、
美味しかったので強く印象に残ってます。

ヨーロッパウナギがワシントン条約で保護されることになったようです。
虎とか象とかと比べるとずっと身近だと思っていた鰻が、です。

下の写真は、地方の名産キャラですね。
どうしてもこういうところに目がいってしまいます。
名前も知らないけど、しゃちほこ君と勝手に呼ぶ。

Waiting summer comes... 夏本番までもう少し

This is my lovely grandmother.

関東は梅雨が明けず、比較的過ごしやすい日々。

夏という季節は、子供の頃から学生までの夏休みという思い出のせいか
大人になっても楽しい季節のイメージです。
田舎のおじいちゃんおばあちゃんに会えるのも楽しみで。

という訳で、こんな写真。
トマトもいでます。
今は体が思うように動けなくなってしまい、とても寂しい。

My vacation has gone 夏休み消えたー

I am going to Okinawa from 13th, Jul.
It is a bit earlier than usual.
It is first time to visit there.
It must be exciting for me.

But a big typhoon is coming closer to Okinawa day by day.
It will be difinitely hard to fly to Okinawa.
Let me inform that my vacation will go on or not later.

We couldn't go to Okinawa as I expected.
Cause of very very big typhoon.
All frights to Okinawa were cancelled.
I hope that people who live there have usual life.

By the way, I have to plan my vacation again.
Let me see...

13日から沖縄に行く予定です。
一足早い夏休み。
初めての沖縄。
わくわくしてた。

がしかし、巨大台風接近中。
これは厳しいことになりそうです。
また報告します。

夏の計画練り直しするつもりだけど

At dusk 夕暮れ色

Recently I has been busy, time flies so early.

By the way I bought a new 50mm lens for my SLR.
so I can enjoy the daily life more with my camera.

I really love the sky that is finely colored
and is changed the color one by one at sunset time.
Excellent!

来月は少し旅に行く予定です。
それまでの間、色々頑張ろうと思えるモチベーションを高めてくれるのはいいけど、
新しい50mmのレンズも買ったことだし
身近な日常をもっと気持ちよく楽しもうと思います。

夕暮れの空が織りなす色の変化は大好きです。
うーん、絶妙。

The temple in the dusk 夕暮れのお寺

Here is at Mt.Yoshino in Nara prefecture.

奈良県吉野山に行ったときの一枚。
もう二年前になります。
金峯山寺本堂である蔵王堂で特別公開をしていた金剛蔵王大権現を見る。
すごい迫力で怖い顔をしてるけど
不思議とずっと眺めていたくなったので長居したことを覚えている。

桜の時期以外は人も多くないので、静かな旅にはお勧めです。

Vividly red and vermilion目の覚めるような紅

It was very very cold day.
I went to Hiroshima with my friend at New Year's day a few years ago,
and we visited to Itsukushima shrine to pray our wishes for that year.

I love traditional Japanese color.
Shrine maidens wore Japanese red Kimono and pillars which colored vermilion are definitely beautiful.
However it's difficult to wear the cloth that dyed such colors for western style,
I think Japanese Kimono is better than it.

Although I am eager to finish the winter season every year,
I'm anxious for this winter climate on the earth.
Because it hasn't been cold so far.

極寒の厳島神社にて。数年前の元旦に行ったときのですね。
巫女さんの袴の色と柱の朱色が鮮やかで美しかったです。
なかなか普段洋服で着るには勇気のいる色なんですよね。
着物ならばぴたっとくるのでしょう。

寒くて歩調が自然と早くなってしまうような
そんな季節が嫌いなくせに
暖冬の今年は少し物足りない気がします。
ないものねだりっていうのかしら。
でも、でも、やっぱり冬は嫌いです。

旅にいるときは安定した生活を思い、
日常に追われては旅を思い出す。
無い物ねだりの繰り返しかな。

チョコレートを食べておせんべいを食べて
メイプルクッキーを食べてチップスターを食べてハッピーターンを食べる
そんな繰り返しも多々あります。

A Onigawara has his spirit 入魂の顔

This is decorative roof tile is called Onigawara in Japan. "Oni" means demon.
I found in Todaiji temple which is famous for the Big buddha in Nara prefecture.

なんだかんだでまた更新がおろそかになっていました。。

これは東大寺の大仏を見に行ったときに見つけた鬼瓦です。
大仏さんの後ろをぐるっと回っていくと
割と広い空間があってそこに立てかけられていた。
確か、小さい穴が開いていてそこをくぐると良いという柱の近く。
これ、屋根に乗せるんだろうか？
それとも下に置いておくもの？
詳細は不明だけどいい顔してるので気に入った。

今日、岡本太郎の絵を見て感じたことと同じなんですが
圧倒的な力強さがそのものからにじみ出てくるのって
頭より心と体で感じる。
分からないけど惹かれるなあって。
そうしてそれらを創り出した人は一体どんな人なんだろうっていうのが
尽きない興味です。

この気合いの入った顔なら
悪いものも逃げていきそうだ。

His back that is silenced tell you 背中は語る

It might be light basket in Tokoji temple in Hagi city.
It was shaped as the turtle, you know, it symbolozes us the longevity in Japan, in it.
Although I know it's sacred creatures, it looks very cute.
Because we have seen from his back.

萩の東光寺の中で見かけた灯籠だったかな。
おめでたい亀が彫られているけど
後ろから見るとなんとも言えず可愛らしい。

彫刻や建物、生き物、その他色々、
後ろに回ってみると前からでは分からないような隙があって
どうも親しみやすい気がします。
気軽に一歩。
試しに大仏の後ろに回ってみてください。
丸くていい背中をしてるから。

仏像展で見た観音像は後ろから見ても
気品があって匂うような色っぽさがありました。

It makes you warm 寒さの中の暖かさ

I didn't remenber the detail of my travel, you will see the platform at station in Shiga or some other prefeture.
It makes my heart warmer that the way someone think of other people.

You know that it has each cushion for each seat at the church and cathedral in Europe or somewhere. This picture reminds me that.

Additionally that reminds me one more. It's a title of short story, written by Raymond Carver, "A Small, Good Thing".

忘れてしまったけど、滋賀辺りのローカル線の駅にて。
座布団を置いた人の心遣いに見ていて暖かくなりました。

ヨーロッパなどの教会の椅子の下には
小さな座布団がこれまた用意されてますよね。
一つ一つ柄が違っていて興味津々で見たことを思い出しました。

それからレイモンド・カーヴァーの短編の
"A Small, Good Thing"(村上春樹訳の邦題は「ささやかだけれど、役に立つこと」)
という題名。
お話の筋とは全く関係ないけれど
ふと思い出したのでした。

Do you prefer cold weather or wrm weather? 寒いのと暖かいのと

Here is a picture taken at New years day on 2002. Long time went through quickly.
I visited to Itsukushima shinto shrine in Hiroshima prefecture in Japan with my friend.
It is on the island of Itsukushima. And the "torii" , the pole wooden or made of the stone looks like a gate, appears to float in the water.
That's so beatiful and you will feel there sacred place.
So it is one of the most favorite shinto shrine for me.

Anyway, it froze at that day.
When you want to consider deeply something, cold weather is better than warm.
Althogh I really know that, I love warm weather.
It is hard to go out at cold day for me.
Every time when I remember the travels to Hiroshima, that reminds me of the air piercing my face.
Well, I'm sure that I miss warm days until the spring comes.

この写真は2002年のお正月です。あっという間に四年も経ちました。
元旦から飛行機で、友達と一緒に広島にある厳島神社に行きました。
ご存知の通り、厳島にある神社で水面から出ている鳥居が有名ですね。とても美しく、海に鳥居っていう取り合わせも神秘的。

場所は素敵だけど、お正月特有の寒い日で、こたえました。
何かをじっくり考えるには冬は頭がきりっとして、適しているとは思います。
それは分かってはいるけれど、肉体的には寒いのが嫌いで暖かければ暖かいほどいいのです。
広島旅行を振り返るといつも刺すような冷たい空気を今も思い出すことが出来ます。
初冬の今からなんですが、春が来るのが待ち遠しいなあ。
